3k Steps a Day FREE Walking Challenge
Back by popular demand is our 3k Steps a Day walking challenge! We want you to join us, and the Safer Greener Healthier team at Essex County Council, in walking 3000 steps a day for six weeks.
Challenge starts 23rd January, but you can sign up for free now. Essex-based residents are eligible to win prizes.
This walking challenge is all part of Essex County Council’s ambition for Essex to become safer, greener and healthier by making it easier and safer for residents to walk or cycle. Therefore cutting air pollution, reducing traffic congestion in the county and improving residents’ physical and mental wellbeing.
It doesn't matter where you live, you can join in with us! From gardening, household tasks and walking to the bus stop - all steps count!
Sign-up anytime over the six weeks and do your best to step to it each week!
Don't forget you can use the app to find a plethora of walking routes across Essex. From Tendring to Harlow and Chelmsford to Colchester we have so many fantastic walking routes available for free.

Competition Terms and Conditions
You must be a resident within one of the 12 Essex County Council districts* to be eligible to win the weekly and end of challenge prizes.
To meet the entirety of the entry requirements you must be an active participant in the Safer Greener Healthier Walking Challenge “3k Steps a Day” on the Go Jauntly app.
You must submit your true, full post code as part of the challenge onboarding experience.
For the avoidance of any doubt, you will be automatically enrolled by signing up to the challenge and providing your accurate postcode.
The competition period will run between 23rd January 2023 to 5th March 2023.
There will be one weekly winner of an annual Go Jauntly Premium Membership. In addition to this there will be two Bronze winners, one Silver winner and one Gold winner at the end of the competition.
The Gold prize will be a smart watch up to the value of £300 (including postage & packaging).
The Silver prize will be a One4All Gift Card up to the value of £200
The Bronze prize will be a £50 Clarks voucher
If either the Gold or Silver prize is under the value specified, no balance will be given. The value states the max value only.
No other prizes will be offered and no cash alternative will be given. Prizes will be awarded to go to eligible Essex County Council residents only.
Weekly winners will be randomly selected from eligible participants. Winners of the weekly prize will be contacted weekly on or around the following dates. 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd February 2023, 1st and 8th March 2023.
The Gold prize winner will be selected from a random generator of the top 5% of participants who logged the most steps. The winner of the Gold prize will be contacted on 10th March 2023.
The Silver and Bronze prize winners will be picked from a random generator of the top 15% of participants. The winner of the Silver and Bronze prizes will be contacted on 10th March 2023.
We will email the prize winners using the email address used for signing up to Go Jauntly and we will post the prize to the given postcode and address to the winner. We will make 3 attempts to contact the winner over a period of 3 days via email.
If we get no response from the winner we will choose another randomly generated name from the eligible contestants.
*The 12 ECC districts are: Basildon, Braintree, Brentwood, Castle Point, Chelmsford, Colchester, Epping Forest, Harlow, Maldon, Rochford, Tendring and Uttlesford.
