Best Dog-Friendly Beach Walks in the UK

Everyone loves a beach walk. Especially dogs. But not all beaches in the UK are happy to have a visit from your four-legged friend. So we’ve compiled a list of our favourite canine friendly beaches. Dog-friendly beach suggestions incoming…

Freshwater West, Pembrokeshire

Pembrokeshire is home to lots of dog-friendly beaches, including Freshwater West. This wide, sand and rock beach is a popular destination for surfers too. The sand dunes are a favourite among furry visitors.

Southwold Denes Beach, Suffolk

Southwold’s shoreline is split into two. The southern part of the shore is Southwold Denes Beach. Which dog owners will be pleased to know allows dogs all year round. The northern part of the shore, Southwold Pier Beach, does have a ban on dogs from April to September, so do bear this in mind.

West Mersea Beach, Essex

Beaches on Mersea Island are very happy to welcome your canine companion. So if you’re visiting Essex you must take a trip to West Mersea Beach. Advice by the council is that dog owners need to clean up after their dogs and leave the waste in the dog bins provided. During the summer season dogs on leads is preferred.

North Berwick Bay, East Lothian

If you’re looking for a dog-friendly beach in Scotland, look no further than North Berwick Bay in East Lothian. The beach is popular with families and dog walkers, with dogs allowed on all year round. You can explore North Berwick on our great North Berwick Town and Sea walk.
