2. Baslow Edge

Go to Baslow Edge and you'll find moors to gaze across, a mysterious rock rumoured to go have been thrown by a giant and even the location for a scene in Pride & Prejudice. You'll spot highland cows and enjoy incredible views of the Peak District.

3. Mam Tor

A gentle climb up which provides a view over Edale to Kinder Scout and the Derwent Moors and on a clear day, Manchester on one side and Peveril Castle on the other. The summit is also encircled by a Bronze Age hill fort, making Mam Tor a must when visiting the Peak District.

4. Birchover

You may wander past the old village stocks in Birchover but you'll soon find some very tranquil scenes as you walk through the village and towards the woods, where you can find a hermits cave and stroll through meadows. Walk far enough and you can also discover a gritstone called Robins Hood's stride, offering a fabulous view.

With plenty of picnic benches and seats along the Linacre reservoirs this jaunt is the perfect stroll to bring a packed lunch along with you to reward yourself for all the walking. Peaceful and serene by the waters edge, this is the perfect Peak District walk if you want something super chilled.
