Rise Against Loneliness With Our Latest Walking and Fundraising Challenge
Let’s RISE Against Loneliness this January. Together with the British Red Cross we are launching the Rise Against Loneliness walking and fundraising challenge to help you feel connected at one of the loneliest times of the year. The challenge starts on Blue Monday, but you can sign up now to help beat loneliness.
Around 39% of UK adults say that they don’t think their feelings of loneliness will go away after the Coronavirus is over and over a third say they are concerned about being able to connect with people in person the way they did prior to the pandemic. Getting out and about in local parks and green spaces can help with this.
So we’re challenging you to enjoy 5 morning walks for 5 weeks. Get out for 10 minutes or more between the hours of 6am and 12 noon to make your walk count towards the challenge. Whether that’s to enjoy a sunrise on your local beach, to take the dog for a walk in the park, or simply opting to walk to work instead of jumping in the car. Why not nominate 5 people and share the walking benefits among friends and family too?!
Let's beat loneliness together.
As part of the challenge, we’re also asking that you donate just £5 to the British Red Cross. By doing so you’re helping support the vital work they do to tackle loneliness around the UK. Simply Text 70141 with the word RISE to donate £5 or alternatively visit this website to make a contribution.
See you at sunrise!
